EuCon crashes overnight, every night
Never fails. Sit down at the computer in the morning and EuCon is frozen. Unresponsive. I have to force quit.
EuCon 2022.4 (most recent) w/ ProTools 2022.6 and OS 12.4 on a Mac Studio Ultra. I have the suggested system preference settings (prevent computer from automatically sleeping) and the monitor is set to never sleep. I do have a screensaver which begins after an hour of inactivity but that's never been an issue in the past. The controller (iPad, Amazon Fire and Avid A1) are all running the latest versions of their software/firmware. Anyone know what could be causing this predictable, nightly crash? |

Do you have power save on the Ethernet?

Sorry, I realize OSX only control s this from sleep(I'm on a PC which has it separate) One thing that is known to cause this is App Nap. Try disabling it for EuControl and MCClient.

Avid Control was crashing on me occasionally in Apple Native mode. Opening Eucon in Rosetta mode seems to keep Avid Control running indefinitely. But that's not a long-term solution.

I've been testing it for weeks, natively and also w/ Rosetta, but nothing is improved. It still crashes often.
EuCon is still version 2022.4, so no updates in quite a while. I can't be the only person this is happening to. |

OK, so its overnight. Something must be happening during the night.....is there a virus checker running? Updates? Its hard to tell. If you collect the logs(from the EuControl Icon) that may help.

This is useful info. We draw the OLED screens in an off window. Some have seen this as with 3 screens it sometimes appears. I wonder if turning the monitor off is causing issues with this. I'll try and reproduce here first. How many monitors do you have?

It hasn't crashed these past two days, and I've been turning the monitor off as usual.
One thing that's potentially different: the Amazon Fire, which I use on top of my S1, has been turned off. I think. I noticed just now that it was off, so maybe it's been off the entire two days and that's played a role in the lack of crashes...? I'll make sure the Fire is on tonight and see how it goes tomorrow and the next day. |

Can you first try with the tablet on.....then if it starts crashing again try running EuControl in Rosetta mode and report back. If it doesn't crash in Rosetta mode then we know of this issue.

EuCon has been crashing for me since 2022.4. It happens all day and overnight. Like I've said before, Rosetta helps but it's still far from perfect. When I reach for a button or fader, there's a 50/50 chance that it will work. This is all since getting a Mac studio Ultra.https://duc.avid.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

I have to say though... I've still not had a EuCon crash since upgrading the OS to 12.5.1. Seems that that took care of whatever was causing the issue.

I don't see "collect logs" in the Eucontrol menu. I reluctantly and regretfully did a clean install. haha. Everyone here said I was having performance issues because I initially migrated. Funny enough, everything behaved exactly the same after spending several hours installing my ridiculous collection of plugins. But.... Eucon actually worked great when running the system from my migration. Since clean installing everything I've had constant issues. I keep hoping an update will be released and take care of it! I've uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times. No change here with latest Monterey and IOS. Thanks! |

My issues were only performance issues after the migration, but they weren't issues that were solved by reinstalling everything. Sessions from my 2020 iMac could not play on the studio ultra. There has been some improvement after recent pro tools updates though. I'm now able to play sessions with similar routing/processing. |
