Crane Song Peacock crashing PT Ultimate
 

Hi,
I'm trialing - and loving ! - Crane Song's Peacock. BUT....

I get "AAE error -9178 was encountered" every time I load PT up, then I get a "Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFB2" or even other codes....

I figured out it was Peacock because when I remove the plugin -> All good.

It seemed random and now its at every launch :(

My install is an absolutely fresh latest Win10, PT Ultimate 2021.7 with Hybrid Engine and HDX card. It seems the plugin is not communicating right with PT, anyone else had or is having an issue ?

I have Phoenix II. I'm afraid it is woefully underused and I'm on Mac and Native with a version from last year so my findings might not help much? The last time I used it it was working AOK.

Phoenix II is working AOK here too (thank god I use it everywhere :-) )

But I my trial of Peacock is over and it crashed PT constantly, can't afford to buy a buggy plugin...
Hopefully an update is on the way from Crane Song or PT...

This is the exact same problem I have. This is driving me crazy. I register an account just to post here. Crane song basically won't reply and emails and customer service is non-exisitence. The plug is good but it's simply not working. Crashing all my PT sessions, giving me access violation errors. Also when I open a session containing Peacock, it shows plugins disabled due to insufficient system resources. I only have 3 plugins in that session! And my CPU is 8 cores 16 threads. I have 32GB RAM. My CPU can easily handle 50+plugins and I've never seen the insufficient system resource message before. Please someone help. They sell some of the most expensive plugins but in fact, no one from the company is even trying to help with any issues. Btw Phoniex ii works perfectly.

Thanks for confirming on your side... I agree with you, no email responses from Dave at all, a shame.

Phoenix II works good, no problem at all.

Peacock destroys PT sessions real bad !

My trial of Peacock is over, a bit of a waste of time. It's a shame for such an expensive plugin, its sound is really unique.

What I find even more interesting in your post is that you say you are on 2020.9. I was going to downgrade PT (currently 2021.7) to see, glad I didn't...

Let's wait for fixes. I had both trial and purchased licenses in my ilok. I tried to deactivate the trial one and keep the purchased one. Still the same

Also Peacock has not AudioSuite which is very interesting. I thought all aax plugins come with AudioSuite options. As of now, Peacock still crashed

I reinstalled my whole Windows 10 system. Created a new session, put Peacock on a track, 30 seconds later, crashed. Won't be trying anymore

Read about your problem so I decided to take the demo for a test ride. After installing Peacock I get the same errors at every launch of PT. I finally have to uninstall Peacock just to back into PT. This problem has to be fixed unless Dave Hill isn't listening.
