I've gone through the install process but when I try to load up the two sample packs they are greyed out. I can open the drums in a PT session. but without the samples nothing is going to happen. Anyone else have this problem?

FWIW I'm on a 5,1 cheesegrater running the latest PT 2018

Hi

Within Install Manager, did you select:
(1) Path to SlatePack files
(2) Destination for SSD5Library folder (internal or external HD)

as shown here:
How To Install SSD5 Free on macOS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbr0fsC8xWk

(above video - @ approx 1:10) - in SSD5 Free Settings: select Base Directory (location of SSD5Library)

Hi, all. How much HDD space does SSD5 require? I can't find this info anywhere. Thanks!

Things are a bit convoluted to me as well. My first install only gave me 1 kick sample and 1 snare sample:eek: I went back to the drawing board:

Select your OS(I'm on Windows) and watch the video. I re-ran the installer and things looked the same. A bit of clicking around, I hit the Kits button(to the right of LIBRARY) and found a single(but complete) category called "01 Rock Kits" and under the KIT PRESET column, I see 3 kits listed and they sound essentially the same, but with differing amounts of ambience. In any case, the library shows as around 2GB on my samples drive. I'm going to experiment and dig some more and will report back if I make any important discovery:rolleyes:

FWIW, I've had SSD since the CD-R days, and my samples folder has always been a sh*t show. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have to swim for samples that will load. Just my experience.

FWIW I never could record audio to Windows. I went to Mac and have had great success... at least, it works. So that MAY be a consideration.

The full SSD5 needs almost 18GB – allow for around 20GB if you add Trigger Instruments and one Expansion.
