MBox hardware upgrade?

First, I have to say that the whole unveiling of PT9 could have been executed much better. Its so confusing and to just have all the info thrown at you at once is a little strange.

ANYWAY, my real question is this...

Is there a system in place now for trading in old MBox units for the new Avid units?

I have an older MBox 2 and would like to consider upgrading to Avid's MBox or MBox Pro. Just not exactly willing to drop 6 hundo for the Pro just yet.

There is not currently one, and Avid/Digi have never had an upgrade program from mboxes to mboxes. They've had a 002 to 003, but generally they don't have upgrades from stuff that's too similar in price.

you're right... they've never had an upgrade program from Mbox to Mbox, but Avid has never owned Digi before.

Also, they had Mbox > 003 upgrade for awhile, so its not that far of a stretch to imagine there could be one similar to what I'm looking for. Especially from Mbox 2 > Mbox Pro.

There is a brand new Mbox to Mbox upgrade program.
It's known as the "sell the old one on eBay, then apply the money from the sale towards the price of the new product" program.
