Avid contest, giveaway and drawing eligibility rubbish
 

OK folks..., it's that time of the year again for me to whinge about Avid's (and before them, Digi's) crap rules regarding their drawings, giveaways, etc....

Why offer folks a chance, (through emails, surveys, etc...), only to tell them at the end that it's only open to US residents only? The rest of us don't count?

Our economies are going stronger than yours right now so I would think that you would be trying to foster some stable, (and happy), relationships.

This is a global economy these days. You have offices all over the world and any prize offerings can certainly be given from those offices so that you can not have to worry about importation rules and such.

We'd like to feel included too...

It must be like the "World Series" sports that are firmly US based!

Maybe it's a talent competition and knew they'd be screwed if the rest of the world could enter :D

I think so.. Even though rules states US residents only (I'm a citizen but live in Oz now).

That same guy won a number of 'contests' all around the same time if I recall.. Very large prizes in all of them.

Good to be him I guess.. :rolleyes:

Vat, international shipping, tax purposes, dealing with variables in laws and regulations dealing with such contests as they even vary state to state in the u.s. and some states can be ineligible. Could be a multitude of reasons. And everyone isn't doing bad here, I just bought a lynx aurora and looking for a 2 buss compressor ;)
