update - it was a bad HDMI cable - gah! all is fine now. :-)

Hi all wise post folks

new (identical) rig, Blackmagic Ultra Studio Monitor 3G not working to a (known to be good) HDMI in. (consumer tv)

I did just install the "Desktop video 12.3 (Mac) and no luck

running Catalina (latest) and ProTools Ultimate 2021.12

ProTools is fine, and it is showing video files IN protools just fine....

(known to be compatible video files with Blackmagic Ultra Studio Monitor 3G as I ran same video on my other, far away, identical rig)

yes rebooted.

what am i missing?

Catalina might be blocking some low level driver from loading up.
Check your security settings in OS prefs and see if there is a message there.

Try swapping the two boxes. Maybe one is simply not working?
