Pro tools SLOW, and Freezing then continuing, then freezing again
 

I have a serious problem that i need to fix.
I have pro tools 8 le on a windows 7 64bit
it was fine before but now recently its been running very slow and when i click on an insert in the mix window, it takes forever to load up. even when i close a plugin window it take forever just to do that. I noticed when i open my task manager, when i stop the svchost.exe process, everything works fine! but then the computer tells me windows needs to restart. Can anyone help?:confused::mad:
