Re: which card for the Yamaha 6416
I just installed a 6416 in my G3 B/W. My SCSI card is an Adaptec 2930u, and it works fine. Cheap, too.
By the way, did you know that the Yamaha 6416 has officially been discontinued? In favor of the 8424, I assume. jasbart [This message has been edited by jasbart (edited March 23, 2000).] |
Re: which card for the Yamaha 6416
pliskin;
is there any big diference between a single channel and the dual? jasbart; I know I noticed it was really hard to get one I think I was very lucky, but there is something that bothers me; Is there a huge differnce between the 6416 and the 8424 and is it compatible with the system (001 and G4350)and Mater List CD? Thank you. |
Re: which card for the Yamaha 6416
I just got the ATTO epci-dc-000 and it works perfect. It is dual channel so I can have my hard drives on one side and the burner on the other and they work independantly. I paid 360 through fantom drives, then you need a cable that goes from VHD(very high density) 68 pin to 50HD(not centronics), this was 40 bucks from Fantom drives. I am using the CRW6416sxz too. By the way the 2940u2w and I think the 2930 by adaptec are discontinued, very hard to locate and their new card is not approved by digi.

I`m on a Biege Box which I don`t think supports dual channel SCSI cards?, like mentioned above, the advantage is to be able to have control over the bus settings for more than one device...I`m running an external HD and my c.d. burner off the one bus just fine
