I'm assuming you are talking to me. I don't remember posting here but I suppose it is possible to find my music if you dig through my web site. I made that track several years ago when I borrowed a friend's proteus and was under the influence of a hallucinogenic substance :P Not exactly a real song.. more of an intro or something, but it is definitely different.

Yeah how did I get to your songs, I forgot. Saw your site, the song sounded indeed a bitty psychnautical. Did you make more songs on acid? Very experimental, yet different style than Ummagumma from Pink Floyd. I have used LSD some times but have never been able to do anything with my computer those moments. Too much freakin'

Hey Roy,

Nice job on the visually impaired Gypsy! Are all the midi sounds from one source? or do you have a bunch of boxes? I particularly liked the cello sound, and your guitar work is as usual totaly unique to you (That's a compliment!) I love that strangled sustain sound you get, really cool.. nice job on the mastering too, a full range of frequencies, and damn loud!

'Driving West'...what a great song..... I love the chords, the vocals, and especially the style. Your material is always fun, always unique. The changes are very refreshing too. Who were your influences, or at least who's stuff did you tend to admire?


On your questions about 'Gypsy'...first, thanks for the comments. It was one of the first things I did in PT/5.1 with 24 tracks(about 3 yrs. ago now), on a little 700mhz Compaq pc (it only got 11 tracks on the Davec test... ). I'de had it in mind for a while and was glad to be able to get it down. I used only my Korg module for midi, but recorded most of the midi to audio for better control. The drums are all samples, edited the old copy/paste way...pre-Reason, pre-SampletankII, which I now use. I think it came out well given what I had to use at the time. It has yet to be mastered properly, but I'll get to that eventually.

Steve - listened to your song. twice. the acoustic guitars i like. electrics are good too but the acoustics i like more. sounds like a mix of beetles, weezer, and no doubt to me. arrangement is solid. vocals are solid. some of the vocals near the end are kind of strange to me (sound kind of high pitched), but hey, to each their own. overall good production and quality job. sounds professional. id like to hear more from you.

Roy - listening to your waltz for the first time now. wow! cool ideas you have. very dramatic stuff. hints of 80s and then ballad styles and then those arpeggating background sounds. very cool. now its turned mellow. after the dramatic it goes into a polka-ish rock ballad. i like this material. you got anymore songs to hear?
