SO am I reading it right, that if I'm Mojave or Catalina there's essentially nothing new or 'fixed' in this latest Pro Tools update that I need?

What update are you referring to? There haven’t been any updates to PT since December.

Also, what version are you on? Hard to say if you’ll be missing any new features without knowing where you’re currently at.

In that case, the plugin updates do not offer any new functionality. They were updated to simply work in macOS Monterey. As mentioned above, Protools did not get updated, only the plugins. It turns out that Protools 2022.12 was already working in Big Sur and Monterey, but the Avid Complete Plugin Bundle needed to be reworked in order to be compatible with Monterey.

So the answer to the OP is "No." If you are running under Mojave or Catalina, these plugin updates do not offer you any known benefits. It doesn't hurt to get the updates simply to get up to date, but that is your choice.

I think he's asking about ProTools and wonderin if the latest version addresses bug fixes, or if it merely offers Monterey compatibility.

The answer is: it (PT 2021.12, the latest version) does address more than just the OS. Here are the release notes.

In that case, did we answer your question? There is no additional function in the plugin updates for Mojave and Catalina users. You may still want to update the plugins just to have the latest running is you like. Or you may stay put (if it ain't broken...).
