Aligning Rythm Tracks to Click Track (Beat Detective/Other)

Hello,

I have recorded various rhythm instrument tracks and would like to sync some areas where they are not aligned exactly with one another and/or the metronome/click track. Variations are minor and for many folks not even detectible. Nonetheless, before additional tracks are recorded, I want to sync all basic rhythm instruments.

Rather than performing this manually, can this function be done automatically within Beat Detectives or some other Pro-tools feature?

I'm not able to understand if there is such a feature when refering to the help manuals.

Any direction is greatly appreciated!

Beat Detective works best when the audio you are correcting has well-defined transients. So, while a clave track would be easy, a shaker might be more difficult.

But to answer your question... Yes. Beat Detective "lines up" highlighted audio to the grid by chopping the audio before each transient (region separation), shifting each piece to line up with the grid (region conforming), and then smoothing the transitions between each region (edit smoothing). But first you have to tell Beat Detective what Time Signature, what start and end point, what rhythmic subdivison, etc.
