Air installs & such.

I've always wondered when installing Air instruments, Xpand and such it asked you if you want to install in a different location ?

Perhaps more efficient to install those instruments & samples on a separate drive >?

Thank you.

Hmmm, a good question. FWIW, while I have installed many sample libraries on a separate drive, I have only done the default install of AIR plugins and instruments. My system drive is only 500GB(SSD) and its never been an space issue:o

As much as possible I like to keep all my sample and patch libraries on a separate drive. Over time, I've found that works best and keeps things from getting cluttered on my OS, which I like to keep as clean as possible. I'm fortunate to have 5 drives on my system, so having dedicated drives was easy to set up.

I just create a folder for each VI and then keep the samples and/or patches in the proper order inside those folders on the drive. Its a 1TB drive, so I have plenty of room for multiple libraries and samples. I've never really had any issues doing it this way.

Great concept. I'm in the process of building a library that way as well, thanks for the info.
