I am looking into the 001 for an out of my studio unit. I am wanting to know if my nice plugins for my main Pro Tools rig (TDM) will function with the 001. If not now, in the future? It would be wonderful!

Audiosuite plugins Yes.

TDM plugins No.

The 001 and Pro Tools LE uses a new plugin format called RTAS (Real Time AudioSuite).

Although, a TDM plugin will not work on a 001 system and an RTAS plugin won't work on a TDM they will work in the following way...

If you create a session on a 001 system and instantiate an RTAS DVerb plugin, for example, you can close that session take it to a TDM system and the TDM version of DVerb will open with all the same settings/automation/etc.

As long as the two systems have the appropriate version of the same plugins (RTAS or TDM) they will be totally interchangeable when taking sessions back and forth between these two systems.
