Pro Tools 11 & Focusrite, Saffire Liquid 56
 

I am running PT 11.2.1 on a Wins 8.1 64bit OS with 32Gb of RAM. My audio interface is/was a 003 rack. I have found the new drivers for this interface to be anything but good.

So I am trying to update the audio interface to a Focusrite Saffire Liquid 56. I was able to get PT 11.x initialize the Liquid 56 interface once and the audio was much improved. I also launched Sonar X3 and it worked. I was happy as Sonar X3 will no longer see the 003 due to changes in the drivers provided in PT 11.x.

Launched PT 11 and opened a file. checked the hardware, playback engine, and I/O. Things looked good however when I hit play PT indicates "It is unable to initialize the Saffire or audio interface. The session locks or closes.

Has anyone had any experience with this interface as Focusrite's tech. support has no cue?

I have decided to return the unit. For me it's not been worth the trouble. I can also say the upgrade to Pro Tools 11.x has been anything but good. I am sorry I ever went there.
