No audio on bounced files

Something has gone horribly wrong and whenever I bounce something, there is no audio. I'm pretty sure this is an I/O issue, but I can't figure it out. I feel like I've tried everything, even importing stored I/O settings. My outputs look fine, and of course, I can hear everything fine before I bounce. It doesn't matter if it's a new file or an old file. No audio is present on any new bounce.

The problem occurred after I imported some PT sessions to my desktop PC that I recorded earlier tonight on a laptop using a different interface than what I normally use. Please help!!

Re: No audio on bounced files

Is what you are hearing before bounce on another path (3-4 instead of 1-2 for example), such as a monitoring path or some other output...

...Or is what you have as the output selected as the bounce source another path?

Can you open a brand new session, hear a simple stereo file and bounce it as expected? Perhaps as you mentioned a recent import and interface switch... such things with sessions can get muddled up.

Oh my goodness. I'm an idiot. I went to bed and when I woke up this morning I realized the problem. Too detailed to explain here, but I fixed it in 30 seconds. How do I delete this thread?

Rather than deleting the thread, why not take 5 mins to type what you did to fix the issue so others that encounter a similar problem can search the forum and possibly find a solution.

Yes, please share.

Simple problems have incredibly hard to find solutions!

Kinda the point of user forums like this.

Re: No audio on bounced files

Ok, sorry. It's embarrassing, but if it helps somebody somehow, here goes:

My Windows PC setup is a little complicated, with five different audio options for speakers due to the need to send the audio to various rooms in the studio. For whatever reason, playback within PT was correctly assigned to my hardware interface in the control room. HOWEVER, the main PC audio out was assigned to a different room. So when I worked in PT, I heard everything fine, but every time I tried to play back a newly bounced file, I heard nothing. Clearly, the files bounced correctly, but were simply playing back in another room.

I SHOULD HAVE taken the suggestion somebody posted in a similar thread I read before posting my own of importing the newly bounced file into a PT session. I clearly would have seen there that file did indeed bounce correctly even though I couldn't hear it, and I probably would've realized the problem sooner.

It was 2:30 in the morning and I was under the gun to get this project completed and obviously wasn't thinking very clearly!
