Hybrid Engine

I finally installed 2021.12, from 2020.12.

Is anyone with HDX (not Carbon) using the Hybrid engine? When first opening Pro Tools defaulted to Hybrid engine when first installed. We have a HDX2, and have never really hit the DSP ceiling, so I'm not seeing the point of running Hybrid. Just curious.

More hassle than it's worth if you don't need the extra voices (lots of plugin limitations/fiddling.) Tried it for a month. Turned it off after that.

I feel the same so far, and turned it off. Also, with Hybrid Engine on, I went to A/B a mix I was working on before upgrading, it seemed to sound a little bit different. Turned Hybrid Engine off, and all is well again.

Same here. Tried it, but too many quirks, so turned it back off again.
