Computer for XP and 001- will upgrade to 002
 

Anyone know of a comp manufacturer that doesn't require a 2nd mtg to build a reliable, quality, troublefree comp w/XP for 001 which will be upgraded to 002? I have checked out MusicXPC, looks like a great system but only 1 PCI slot and 1 cd drive for $1600+, too much.

Check the "Best Desktops for PTLE" thread at the top of this forum with the red thumbtack.

There is a machine in there I believe for $600.00 that has recieved much acclaim.

I've got an MSI Neo2 - 2.4 ghz P4 w/ 1gig of DDR 400mhz Ram.

It handles 32 tks w/ 20 or so pluggins, dual monitors, 5 hard drives & a DVD burner flawlessly, and you should be able to get the same (or better now) mother board - processor - Ram - Tower / Pwr supply, for under $500.00

However, you may find in the above mentioned thread, an AMD machine, that kicks this ones butt, for less money.
