breakout cable too short??

hi everyone,
i am a novice and need some help with my home studio setup. i got a new mbox pro 3, which comes with the breakout cable to connect the interface to my roland juno synthesizer. but the breakout cable is too short if i want to use the convenient pull out tray for my keyboard. what can i do? will it work to get a male to female midi cable as an extension?

an extension should be fine (or cable and coupler)
