Internet Explorer 8: DigiDesign, how long does it take?
Has DigiDesign not fixed the Internet Explorer 8 boot problem yet? I'm looking around. Lots of info on removing IE8. However, many programs now require IE8 so its time for DD to step up and fix it. If I missed it thef ix, please advise and I'll eat crow..

I think DD was hoping IE9 would work with PT8 after W7 launched!
Just being silly... |
Re: Internet Explorer 8: DigiDesign, how long does it take?
As long as you have a backup plan, feel free to try IE8 on Vista or Win7. From what I have read, the IE8 issue relates to XP only(correct me if I am wrong).

XP workaround.
1. Open Regedit (from Run Window enter “regedit” press OK) 2. In Regedit browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings 3. Right click on the empty space in the right hand side of Registry Editor window and choose New > DWORD Value 4. Name the DWORD AllowCookies and press enter 5. Double click on the AllowCookies DWORD and enter 1 in the Value Data field then press OK 6. Launch Pro Tools filosofem |

What programs "require" IE8? And if it messes up your PT installation, which is more important, Internet or Pro Tools?
One word. Firefox...... |
Re: Internet Explorer 8: DigiDesign, how long does it take?
This is got to be the craziest thing I've ever heard. A friggin web browser that prevents another applicatino from loading!
Has anyone figured out what the cause is? I'm not talking about workarounds or hacks, but what the hell is really happening here? I'll bet no one knows, no one from MS or Digi. I finally gave in to the nagging Vista balloons and just to get rid of them I installed IE8. I dont' even use IE. PT still works, although I am getting some errors that I've never seen before once in a while. Could be related, who knows? |
