It's interesting, but here 7.4 seems a tad more efficient on my quadcore. There was a thread not long ago about this, you might want to search to find out more.

Re: 7.4 Performance hit

(C:) : 233.76GB (34.33GB, 15% Free Space)
(D:) : 74.50GB (3.61GB, 5% Free Space)
(E:) : 71.11GB (17.31GB, 24% Free Space)

...free space problem ?

i would definitely be concerned about my performance with those numbers

Re: 7.4 Performance hit

NOT a free space problem, those are my fixed drives, and none of them are used for audio. The USB2 drive listed below the fixed drives is my media drive.

Anyway, the errors I posted about were CPU related, not drive related.

Re: 7.4 Performance hit

-9128 and -9129 errors are actually drive errors. The CPU cannot get data from the drive fast enough.

USB drives are not supported as audio drives for this very reason.

AND IF C: is your system drive then you are at the BARE minimum of free space for your OS to have enough to operate efficiently and as you might desire but hey, what do we know offerin' any kinda advice from your system specs??? the nerve.....

Thanks for the advice, but I've been running this system like this for over a year with no problems until this upgrade.

no doubt that many includin' yourself have felt the 7.4 performance hit. no denyin' that. and really we are here to help and be helped. that is why a couple of us brought up the free space issue possibility. and i'll leave you with this thought. you say you've been runnin' your system like that for a year. do feel those were your free space numbers a year ago???? just askin' and good luck with whatever version of PTLE you choose to work with
