Artist Control Screen Calibration

Hi,
I have used the Calibration Tool as mentioned in FAQ, but it dos not work.
Most of the time there is no reaction of the screen when touched, sometimes it triggers another command ( Soft Keys ) far away from the place where I touch.
It makes my unit almost unusable for me and drives me crazy ... ! :(
Has anyone issues like this and solved the problem ?

Thanks a lot, Wolfgang

Re: Artist Control Screen Calibration

I find it helpful to use a stylus or the eraser of a pencil when calibrating to touch the dots with instead of my finger. It gets the calibration closer for sure.

Still, the Artist Control touchscreen isn't very good and no matter how precisely I calibrate it I still have a tough time touching exact buttons. When I make my touchscreen softkey layouts I usually space them out with a blank space in between which helps cut down on erroneous button presses. With the new version of the PT Control App though now I can use that on my iPad instead, which is much nicer.

The touchscreen on the Artist Control was really brilliant at the time in terms of concept, but the poor build quality/sensitivity of the touchscreen really hampered its potential sadly.

Thank You Leverson, great advice, will recalibrate with a pen. Unfortunately I still stuck on an old not compatible iPad.
Have anyway the plan to get a new one.
Thanks !

I can tell you that is not a normal experience and can possibly indicate that the touch part of the screen is failing. To touch a different part of the screen and have a button not close to where you touch activate should never happen.

I'd understand if it was a few pixels off but yours sounded like it is a few buttons away.

My Artist Control is certainly accurate within a finger-tip.

Yes me too I was afraid of a damaged screen, but fortunately the method of Leverson worked really well. My touch screen is accurate now. Working as never before, even brand new it never worked like after this calibration with a smooth grind toothpick. The tiny rectangles with the cross hairs are not made for fingers.
I'm happy not having a hardware defect !!
Thanks again Leverson !!

Re: Artist Control Screen Calibration

WOW!!
2022 and this just saved me from an ongoing headache :-)

The combination of using the fine stylus from my Wacom to calibrate the screen and using my "finger nail" instead of my big fingers when making selections has made the Artist Control quite responsive.
Calibration with my fingers never gave acceptable results.

I had gotten in the habit of using the iPad to compensate but for many functions it becomes somewhat unintuitive to work that way.
One of the biggest reasons I use the Artist Control is for the 8 encoder knobs for the inserts/plugins.

At any rate this has made a major difference. thanks.
