Release of Mbox 3 Pro?
 

Hi,

does anybody know when the Mbox 3 Pro is going to be released? And why does it take so long, I don`t even get an answer from the avid support.

I sold my Version 2 in the last week of september, because of the announced new versions and I can`t wait too much longer... I know, I could use every interface with pro tools 9, but I`d like to use that one.

Late November. Around the 22nd. according to Musicians Friend and Sweetwater.

I am waiting very eagerly for this release.
I wish Avid would tell us a date or at least tell us whats going on. It says in the store that there is an expected release date for the end of oct. I ordered mine 15th of october and the store told me it would take 2-3 weeks. Last news I had was for 11 of nov (today) and now they have moved it again.

I just wish I knew weather that was solid, or if they are going to keep moving it and moving it. If thats the case I will just buy a regular mbox for a portable system and wait for the pro/new interfaces next year.

Sweetwater doesn't know. Come on... they are guessing and even said as much. Only beta units are out now.

As soon as RME's babyface is about to be released, the new mBox Pro will be out. Shish... you know this is the way it is. Then we will all want the latest convertors on the new Babyface.

This is the global plot to frustrate buyers universally. We were told by an ATT audio engineer in July iPhone for VZW coming out. But they had too many Droids to sell, and had to stop production on Palms and only announced it a week ago. Even Apple Hardware Senior managers learned of it via Google. Who knows really. VZW customer service told a day before the announcement.

I hope at least AVID is spending this time fixing their current set of drivers of Deltas, Axiom Pros, etc, etc... cause if there is a ****load of error messages as before. It's over. The King is Dead!

So I'm guessing that that wont be anytime in the near near future!

Im very eager to get started with PT. Do you think If I went out and got an mbox3 Id be kicking myself a week later for not waiting that extra week? or would I see it on the shelves in a few months time and be happy that I got the smaller version and had some time to upgrade?

I don't think it will be very long before it's out. And yes, I think you'll be kicking yourself for not waiting a couple of weeks.

this has nothing to do with when they'll be available. but, i played with one yesterday and the build on it was very nice! it didn't feel like a P.O.C. plastic lunchbox. The knobs and buttons were all sturdy and the outer shell was a nice solid metal. I may be getting one now... thanks a LOT avid!
