Hi.. Thanks for your replies. Majones, my brother likes the logic version also, so maybe I will do something more there. The vokalharmoni doesnt fit with the new chords tho.. So I'll see what I'll do with that. (sorry my english) I'm going in a real studio this summer, in a month or so to record that song (heal me) with som pros. I'll post my it here. Exited =) Well, see ya guys!

Hey everybody,

I haven't been here for some time.

But I'd like to show you all a track I'm
working on with a singer.

It's called ON SUNNY DAYS:

http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~tamodeo/sunny.html

It's a pop/R&B kind of thing. A little bit of a
Gospel thing on the 2nd chorus.

Equipment used: Rode NTK, Lexicon MPX 100, Roland XP-30,
Squire Jazz Bass, MultiLoops Drum Loops, T-Racks/Mastering

Would love to hear your thoughts and/or suggestions.

The woman's name is Bonita and I am quite smitten with her voice!

Thank you!

Sounds great toddamo. The synth sometimes gets in the way of the voice and there sounds like some strange sounds. Maybe...

Anyhow, very good quality and performances.

Toddamo
hi its very nice song and a nice thinking but
for my opinion the mix is not so good
in alot of part in the song
i fill that there is no air
the keyboard are over her vocal {2 much effect -for my opinion }
the singer is great
i think that with a new mix it will be great

Toddamo,
I can see where your "smite" comes from. Nice job. First, some background. I am an experienced drummer but new to PTLE. Here's my two cents: I really like the vocal tone. I do think it would stand out better with either a lower level on the delay, or slightly less of it. I also feel that the bass sound is slightly dated. My personal preference would be for a more neutral sound. Again, this would let a less processed vocal really shine through. Most imporatantly (to me anyway) is how drums sit in a mix. It's not about the biggest or loudest sound, but what works best for the particular track. In this case I have a number of thoughts. Firstly, your cymbal work--especially the crashes and open hats--sounds a bit thin. Perhaps you could extend the decays a bit with some compression. An extreme version of the sound I refer to can be found on Amon Tobin's "Four Ton Mantis". I'm not suggesting anything that radical, but the cymbal effect is one I often hear in more moderate music and I like it alot. Regarding the bass drum, I beleive the song would benefit from fattening it up a bit. That being said, if you bring up the bass drum, you'll have to make it less busy or it will compete with other stuff in the mix. The snare drum also sounds a little buried to me, although I think bringing up the snare drum would expose its artificial quality. Maybe search for a more open sound. That would prevent you from having to fatten it up with reverb--too 80's!. In fact, I would suggest that a cleaner sound overall would allow all that good stuff to shine through even better than it does now. This song has "soundtrack" written all over it man.

FunkGypsy,
I know that this tune has been out for a few days, but I just got to listen to it. Gotta tell you that guy has such a CLONED voice of RUSTED ROOT it is SCARY! That is a good thing because they are a very talented band! Very cool tune too.

Good deal!
