How do I update PT11 to a PT12 perpetual license?
I have PT 11 Last updates.
How much cost for me PT12 Perpetual license Any info Thanks |
Re: PT 12 perpetual license
Don't know the price in Chile but the U.S. price is $199 for the upgrade to PT12 from PT11.
You can also buy a subscription for one month to see how you like it. I think that is $25. |
Re: PT 12 perpetual license
Thanks
I can buy at Avid page The price you gave me is perpetual license ?? |
Re: PT 12 perpetual license
No - The $199 is for a yearly support plan including updates and whatever comes out during that year.
The montly subscription plan is $29 a month. |

Re: PT 12 perpetual license
Well new its $899 but as an update i can't say for sure. I thought it was $199 and it is a license which won't expire but will need to be on a support plan after 12 months.

Re: PT 12 perpetual license
"Qualifying upgrades
To upgrade or crossgrade to Pro Tools 12 or Pro Tools | HD 12, you must own one of the following Pro Tools licenses, which will need to be surrendered upon activation: Pro Tools upgrades* Pro Tools 9, 10, or 11 (or 12 if you purchased a new Pro Tools system) Pro Tools Express bundled with Pro Tools | Mbox, Fast Track Solo, or Fast Track Duo interfaces only (InMusic versions of Pro Tools Express are not eligible) Pro Tools M-Powered 6–8 or MP 9 All Pro Tools upgrades and crossgrades include an annual Avid upgrade plan, renewable annually, which provides all future Pro Tools software upgrades for one full year—including the upcoming cloud collaboration and Avid Marketplace features—plus, access to world-class professional support around the clock. After one year, simply renew your plan annually to stay current. Upgrades included Stay up to date as all future Pro Tools upgrades are included with your 1-year plan and accessible from the cloud as soon as they’re available; simply renew your plan annually ($199/year for Pro Tools, $599/year for Pro Tools | HD) to stay current Get help whenever, wherever, and however you need it, with world-class experts available worldwide to answer questions and resolve issues" So I read that to mean if you buy the upgrade to PT12 you get to keep PT12. Does it reverts back to PT11 after one year? Or does it disappears completely? Of course if you do not upgrade after one year, you then must purchase a full price version to be eligible for future upgrades. For details about what these plans include, visit the Pro Tools Licensing page. Sorry this is so complicated. |
Re: PT 12 perpetual license
It DOESN'T disapear so please stop saying that.
It will be the last revision you have and nothing will be "taken away" if you don't update or jump on a support or subscription plan, just locks at that PT version if it is PT12 or PT13 at the time. |
Re: PT 12 perpetual license
I did not say it would disappear, I asked if it would based on your previous answer.
I haven't seen it stated what will happen if I upgrade for one year and then don't renew. I assume I would stay where I was. I see if I had a yearly subscription and was on PT12, it would revert back to my last perpetual license version, in my case PT11. So by upgrading to PT12, you get to keep that version unless you renew your license after one year for the next version. |
