deleting part of audio file

I've recorded a long audio file and removed a middle part of its clip on its track. However what I want is to remove the real audio file in the audio files folder and replace it with two audio files of the remaining two parts of the long audio file corresponding to the two remaining clips. How do I do that?

Thanks, cheers, Bob

Re: deleting part of audio file

Several ways; but if you really need a session folder with minimum files, "save session copy..." is easy:
- select the clip(s) and "consolidate" in file menu, so that new files are created for these clips.
- go to clip bin, select unused clips in clip bin menu and remove them.
- with only the two newly created files left in the clip bin, save a session copy.
Close the session without saving.
A new session folder with only the two files is now there, and you can delete the old one of you like.

Thanks a million Ben, that is exactly what I needed. Works like a charm.
