Reason 4 and Pro Tools LE 7.4 Rewire crash
Whenever I try to use Reason 4 with rewire, it crashes. In my previous post I said how my motherboard isn't supported, so Check that for specs. I'm running 7.4cs9 and I do open reason Before I use the inserts/sends for rewire. Pro Tools gives me a Access Violation error and I get the "Pro Tools encountered an Error and must close" with the send error or don't send error to Microsoft.
Anyone got any help? Thanks. |

I don't open Reason before inserting it. I let the insert open it! Try that. But isn't the lack of motherboard support a possible answer to your question?

Re: Reason 4 and Pro Tools LE 7.4 Rewire crash
I got pro tools to work 100% with my motherboard although it is not supported. Reason is fine by itself, just not in Rewire slave mode.

Re: Reason 4 and Pro Tools LE 7.4 Rewire crash
I have this exact same problem.
Reason 3.0 with ProTools LE 8 on an 003 Rack. The system is a Creation Station from Sweetwater and everything is supported by Digi's PC hardware requirements. Reason works fine. As soon as I fire up an Instrument insert with Rewire to Reason, the program crashes out. Clean Windows Vista Home Premium install, clean ProTools install (both Vista and PT8 installed and setup by sweetwater techs, so it's already properly configed) and a clean Reason 3 install. |
Re: Reason 4 and Pro Tools LE 7.4 Rewire crash
(introduced with) Vista has a feature called UAC, it blocks anything from accessing kernel. If you want PT to run with rewire (which accesses kernel) then you should:
a.) right click on host daw (PT8, Live 8, Sonar, ect) and run as administrator (psw required) b.) turn off UAC (located in contral panel/users and groups) good luck |
