Solo Strings
I would like to get some awesome solo string sounds (violin, viola, cello). Two questions:
1. Does anyone have any sugestions? 2. I've heard of "Dan Dean's Solo Strings Advanced" samples. Does anyone out there have these, and if so, how are they? Thanks. |
Re: Solo Strings
IK's Miroslav Philharmonik has some nice solo sounds.

Re: Solo Strings
Hi there,
XSample have recently updated their SoloStrings-Library. See www.xsample.de or http://www.soundsondemand.com/detail...o_strings/en/1 for details. Cheers thorsten |
Re: Solo Strings
They're recorded dry, but Vienna Symph Library is crazy good. You'll need some decent verb to make them sound finished, but the basic recordings are excellent. And this library is not cheap, but I have to say that it can make your MIDI recording sound extremely close to the real thing.

Hi there, no, I haven't checked them out myself - I just know of their existence ;-) I once did a research cause I thought of doing a string quartet arrangement and XSample's library was actually the only solo string library I found then. As for the name - both are fine with me. My actual name is Thorsten but participating in international forums and platforms I often use the English version Thurston instead ;-) |
Re: Solo Strings
I've been impressed by Vienna,
some good sounds, good value too |
Re: Solo Strings
Vienna is by far the best library...You can figure that just by price alone...

Re: Solo Strings
you can find some cheap deals for it, and for what it is, it's really good value.
