a1 and a2 not available as i/o?

My system is a mac pro with Protools hd 8.1.1, Aurora 16 and 96 i/o



my issue is during mixdown (during recording I can use inputs a 1 and a2, which is 1 and 2 of the Aurora) a 1 and 2 are unavailable (greyed out), even though I"m using c 1and 2 (spdif ,mirrored) as my track outputs. A1 one and a2 are not used.


I use up all 22 channels during mixing (including my monitor out) with analog gear and would really like to get the 2 more i/o's as my console has 2 channels not in use.

I'd start in the IO setup window and DEFAULT the IO settings(or restore if you exported/saved them previously).
