Best Single Channel Preamp?
 

it seems when we get into preamp discussions on DUC, we almost always disucuss 8 channel preamps...
but a lot of us here are making rap music, where most of the time, one channel is fine for us...
so what would you say is the best single channel preamp?

I wouldn't say there is one "best" preamp, any more than there is a "best" electric guitar or condenser mic.

However, the Brent Averill 1272 does rock!

Manley
Universal Audio (610)
Great River
DW Fearn (real expensive)
you can browse all these except UA on mercenary.com.
i have a Manley. but i'd just as well take any of the others instead. they're all excellent.
really can't go wrong with any of them.

As far as versitility is concerned, I'd have to go with the Vipre - plan on buying one real soon. Lots of different characters hiding in that box....
