Protools won't import audo on video import
 

Hi


I have PT 2022, and when I import a quicktime video the import window for audio is grayed out. I am able to import the video but not the audio.
I know there is audio because I can play it back in quicktime with audio.
I never had a problem with PTHD 10 importing video on my old system.

What interface?
Gotta provide details if you want answers.
Workaround: once the video is in place, try an “import audio” and point it to the video track.Might have to fiddle with the positioning to get it back in sync,
but hopefully your video & audio both have a “2-pop” sync tone on it.

First there is no PT 2022
There is 2022.4 , 2022.5, 2022.6 , 2022.7 and now 2022.9

List your system in your sig line it will speed things up for any future assistance


On my system (listed below ) the Video and Audio from the video import just fine ( albeit I use the import Video from menu inside PT and do not drag and drop .

It shows up as expected as two tracks one video and one audio track

And if you need to strip off the audio or convert the video, get the excellent and free Shutter Encoder.

PT no longer uses QuickTime for video so playing it in QT is only good for verifying there is audio. Not that PT will import.

What format is your video? It will not import audio from MXF video.

QuickTime movie .mov
Codecs: AAC, H.264

If you use import audio file and navigate to the video, click on it and choose convert file, will it import the audio? You can normally import just the audio from a video this way, would be another way to try..
