New black Mac Pro & Echo Express SE II
 

I want to buy an Echo Express SE II chassis for a new black Mac Pro.
But now Echo Express SE II is not update to thunderbolt 2.
Can it work right with a new Mac Pro?
I will use the chassis for a HD Native card and an UAD-2 Oct card.
And I am worried whether it works right at the throughput of 10-Gbps Thunderbolt if it uses those two cards.

If you buy the Echo Express SE II today, it comes with TB 2. If it was bought a while back, they will upgrade to TB 2 for free.

I can't tell you about HDN running in the Echo Express II chassie since i have an HDN thunderbolt, but, i'm using my Sonnet enclosure for my Aja Kona 3 G and Atto SAS card and it works fine.

Congrats on the purchase of the new Mac Pro, it's an AMAZING machine....so fast and quiet.

Is the TB2 version of Echo Express SE II in store at your country?
I have no information of TB2 version yet, but I feel easy heard it can use with new Mac Pro.

The new Echo Express SE II comes with TB 2. If your dealer still sells the older model (with TB1), just contact Sonnet and see if they still offer the trade up for free.

I have a TB2 version of the SEII that I bought brand new. It took a LONG time to get, almost 3 months! AFAIK, all new ones are shipping with the TB2 upgrade installed. The lengthy back order time is the only drawback to these. Other than that, it's a very well built box.

I have got a new SEII upgraded TB2 this week!

A new Echo Express SEII is operating perfectly with a new Mac Pro Late 2013.
I felt relieved cooling fan noise is less than a HD I/O 16x16 analog model.
