Ok, so I got the Apex SP2 and a 210 ...

I found a local Apex dealer and he hooked me up with a Apex Studio Package 2 and their 210 ribbon mic. Total cost, five and a half buckaroonies, five mics. Quite reasonable, I thought.
The SP 2 came with a plastic molded case, 1-460 tube mic (the M 16 copy), 1-415 wide diaphragm condenser, a matched stereo pair of 185 small diaphragm mics w/interchangable cardioid and omni capsules, the power supply for the 460, four shock mounts and a 7 pin mic cable for the 460.
The 210 comes with an aluminum case, an inner padded bag and the 210 itself w/attached mic cable.
The cases of the SP 2 mics have a very utilitarian appearence and the finish of the 210 resembles the look of some the classic mics of late 1940's and early 1950, but then again, what I am looking for here is the best bang for the buck and if 460 turns out to be as advertised ... well, need I say more.
And it seems I might have covered most my bases in my mic closet, finally, now and yeah, I have others: (4 EV N/D 757B's, 4 Sennheiser MD 604, 2 AKG C 1000S, 2 AKG D 1000E, 1 AKG D 200E, 1 AKG D 12E, 2 Shure SM 81, 2 Shure SM 54, 2 AT 812, 2 Beyer Dynamic M69N(C), 1 CAD E 100 and my new purchases ... so, not bad, not great but not bad.) And no, I don't have any 57s or 58s, on purpose.
I will not be able to really work with the Apex's until this weekend but I can't wait. And I expect good things ... Till then ... have more fun
