Exporting a single Midi Region
 

Hi,

I was trying to find a way to export a single Midi Region of about 8 bars.

But it seems that there is no way that I can do this comfortably in Pro Tools 10.3.9

I tried a search in the Forum here and with Google but I didn't find anything that could help me out besides that I found some threads about people complaining that it still isn't possible to export a Singe Midi Region like you could do it with an Audio Region.

Maybe someone can give me a tip what would be a best workaround.

Put the clip on a new MIDI Track, solo the track and export the MIDI file.

Yes, there needs to be an Export as files feature.

There is an Export Clips as Files command, available from the clip list. I don't recall whether it works for MIDI clips, though.

I guess the Midi Region has to right at the Beginning from the Track, right?

Can't believe that this is not possible. I have to try if it is possible in Pro Tools 11.

Correct, and this isn't different in 12.

I think I requested this feature about 5 years ( or so) ago.

Can't believe why they didn't fix such a thing.

But I also was surprised how uncomfortably programming Drums with PT10 was as I was coming from Cubase 5.
