PT9 or PT9HD?

HI,

Can anyone tell me -

Is Pro Tools 9 software compatible with a HD system

or

Is there another software package called Pro Tools 9 HD?

So basically I'm asking, are there two software versions like with PTLE - eg. PT8 LE and PT8HD or is there now with PT9 just one software that can used with any hardware?

Thanks for the info

Ok. So I've read the FAQ and see that there are TWO versions.

But what's the ACTUAL difference between PT9 and PT9HD software?

There's actually only one software version (well, three I guess...PT 9, PT 9.0.1, and PT 9.0.2) but there are 2 iLok assets...PT 9 and PT 9 HD (a bundle license, including 9 HD, regular 9, and 8 HD).

There's not a seperate PT 9 HD installer, the PT 9 installers are universal.

The PT9 HD iLok asset works with PT 8 and 9 HD, and also unlocks the CPTK features (192 tracks, VCA tracks, etc.) when used with a non-HD native PT 9 system.

The regular PT 9 iLok asset only works with non-HD native systems, allows for 96 tracks, etc.

While the pt9 software itself is the same for all systems, I do believe there is a separate HD installer. The only difference is the HD installer includes the drivers for HD interfaces.

PT HD has all the features of CPT.
