Dante Virtual Soundcard - MTRX Studio Setup

Hey all,

I'm just in the set-up stage of installing a new MTRX Studio, I'm trying to get system audio into the MTRX through Dante Virtual Soundcard but I'm having a hard time.

I think I have a clocking issue between DVS and the MTRX? DVS is showing muted in Dante Controller. I can't figure out where to go, or what to do. There's very limited information around.

Any help is appreciated,

If you are using a 10G Ethernet port in your 2018 Mac Mini this is likely the issue (known) with Dante Virtual Soundcard. Use an adapter like the Belkin:

That should sort it.

best,

Jeff

Ah excellent!

Thanks for the heads-up.

Will Eucon still work if it isn't connected to the switch?

Re: Dante Virtual Soundcard - MTRX Studio Setup

It's actually preferred to separate your Dante (MTRX Studio + DVS) network from your EUCON network.

Just went out and bought the adapter, plugged it in, and now DADman doesn't see the MTRX. I've tried a DHCP connection, and a static IP.

Make sure you see virtual LED life under System Preferences > Network for the Belkin. If a router, you should see green + an IP in the correct range. If no router, you should see amber + a 169 self assigned address range. If you've rejiggered everything and kept the MTRX ST on, you should power it off and then back on.

In DADman, access Settings > Device List to see the IP addresses of the detected MTRX devices. Right click on the detected device and access
Network Settings to ensure you have it configured the way you want - DHCP vs Manual.

Thanks for your help with this Jeff, both DVS and DADman can now see the MTRX. However, DVS is still showing 'clock sync unlocked'.

Re: Dante Virtual Soundcard - MTRX Studio Setup

Screenshots might help. Is the MTRX Studio set to be the leader clock? Dante Controller > Clock Status view.

DVS = 4.1.2.3
Dante Controller = 4.4.0.8
MTRX ST: cpufw = 1.0.3.2
DADman = 5.4.5.1

Which adapter are you using? That doesn't look anything like the Belkin which should be labeled Belkin (see below). Your issue is likely the adapter:

Here's what the Belkin USB-C should look like:
