Media Station

Hi all, Im new to the forums, so please forgive me if this doesnt exactly fit the forum but theres no place in the Other section for this. So I have recently aquired Media Station and a Mojo from Digi, I read the manuals etc., but for the life of me I cant get media station to launch. Im on a g4 dualie with 2 g of ram, it also is runnin a TDM HD system. I unistalled PT and installed Media Station per the man Media goes on before PT. so first i install Media Station looks good, reboot, install PT looks good, reboot. Plugin the mojo adn teh avid dongle for meida station. Attempt first launch of media station....it hops once then nothing. No error msgs no info of any kind. Jsut hops once and nothing happens. I check PT it works fine, updates teh firmware to teh mojo automatically....nice! So Im stumped. I ahve the mojo on its own FW card on my 5th and last PCI slot. So i womnder if its mabye i had PT on thi drive before i got media station and when i uninstalled the uninstaller didnt get everything...no worries. I get a brand new SATA and format it with Tiger. I repeat my install processes and upgrade to 10.4.6 first then install media station then PT and te PT 7.1 cs6 update which i gather from my reading should be cool with everything on teh system. reboot a million times and plug my dongles in (thats what she said) again jsut a single hop of t media station adn nothing....anyone who has gone thru this or has any ideas please let me know im very stumped.

Also a side note when i do launch PT I notice teh new Avid Video Track etc,and it lets me setup and record enable the track then when i tell it lets rock it tells me i need to assign a drive for videorecord...the manual isnt too clear on this. Do i need a scsi set of striped drives to record video? I cant jsut send it to a difernet FW drive that im not using for audio? Or a striped set of FW's? Any info is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for your time
adrian

Re: Media Station

MOJO should be connected to your G4's firewire port, not through a PCI card! It must be the only device on the MOJO's firewire bus. Use your PCI card for audio drives. By the way, you say you've got 5 PCI slots? In the G4?

To assign a drive to record video to, the way I do it is from Pro Tools edit window. Make the video track small or medium sized, as the drive selection will be invisible if the track is set too small. You can select input/output sources on the I and O buttons, and right next to the O button is a rectangular button that, when clicked, will bring up a list of drive choices. You can record to your 2nd internal SATA drive with good results. I would NOT use a firewire drive, save those for your audio.

Hope this helps, I'm at home working from memory so forgive me if I get a button detail wrong.

Thanks so much for the help, Ill try it out today and post results for anyone else having the same problems. I guess not 5 pci slots I counted the AGP slot by accident...
