Jimi Hendrix "Are you Experienced?"
I am wanting to record then reverse vocals and musical instruments then play back like Jimi Hendrix did in the song "Are you experienced?" I believe Jimi simply reversed the tape for playback. Any way to do this using Pro Tools or any other machine or software? All input is appreciated!

Re: Jimi Hendrix "Are you Experienced?"
The Reverse plugin under the audio suite menu will allow you to quickly select audio clips on the timeline and reverse them.

Re: Jimi Hendrix "Are you Experienced?"
To expand; you might make a track with a bounce of your mix, reverse it with audiosuite reverse - and record your fantastic solo along with it. Then reverse the recorded solo, and find out where to place it in the timeline. Get rid of the reverse mix track.

Re: Jimi Hendrix "Are you Experienced?"
Yeah just record your session onto some 2 inch, flip the reels over, record your backwards guitar sitar whacky thing, flip the reels back to normal, dump it back to pro tools!
Or use the "reverse" audio suite plugin. Whatever works. |

Re: Jimi Hendrix "Are you Experienced?"
Unclear... but there is discussions of the songs at least ending up on 4 track 1" tapes for those sessions, not clear to me what tape machines were at which of the three studios. (and yes maybe laying up/reversing individual tracks folks might well be more willing to do that on a smaller machine) and then recording onto a 4 track.
