Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

yea, i was telling ben (capt pants) that i wasn't sure if i was gonna add bass or not, to be honest this is the only song i have ever written that sounded like that.

i was originally gonna do a rap over the drums but i put down a guitar track and said "i have an idea" and that song came out.

i will try raising the chorus vox and adding some bass and see what that does. maybe even a slide guitar solo during the fade out.....the options are endless since its such an easy little number to build around.

again,thanks for listening

ok, i added some bass and a "solo" to my song and mixed it differently, and labled it (version 2) on my site.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

bi0force1- i dig the vox, not sure i follow the bass line. of course, listening on my comp speakers isn't the greatest way to checkout a bass line!

bi0force1 01-02-2003 08:48 PM

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

yea, the bass is pretty bad, i didnt mess w/ the EQ on it so it kinda fades behind everything else and sounds like a third guitar

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

I think your latest version of the song is great....if the bass wasnt there. In this song, simplicity sounds grand! Maybe towards the end, have a nice harmonic droning of a higher pitched guitar solo following the main chords.

bi0,
I've tried 3 different times today, and keep getting 'temporarily unavailable'. I was starting to think that was the name of your song... But, I will keep trying. And yep, I've tried right click, left click, rubbing the mouse on the screen 3 times, and even sprayed Windex all around the room... still nothing...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

bi0force1- nothin' wrong with the vocals on that tune! hec, people have made millions of dollars as lead singers and never sounded that good!
for my tastes, having them a little louder in the mix would be great, but as the sit now it kind of adds to the mystery of the tune.
great job

Gene,
Your stuff is really pretty, as I've told you before. Sounds like you're really getting familiar with PT. Very nice indeed... thanks, Roy

Gorilla,
That dark background theme is interesting. The vocalist sounds like a cross between Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer... Interesting piece...

...back to hear more later (Novice$$ )... Thanks, Roy

Novice Dollars/Sean,
Hey man, your stuff is sounding great! I love the percussion, the vocal/lyric, and the whole vibe about it... I also commend you on the mix... always interesting, start to finish. Let me ask you, is this a 'short and sweet' version of it?...because I almost expected it to last longer. But regardless, very good job, and it's great as a stand alone piece...

Thanks, Roy

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Roy:

Thanks very much! It is the short version. The rest of the vocals where way slopppy so I'm having the guys come back in to see it thru to a full 3 minutes.

I was debating on whether or not to leave the baby voice in. Cool thing is, the kid was actually there when we tracked the tune. I set him up with a mic and 'phones and he bopped along, and scolded us for using "bad words."

Anyway, next up on my faux label is my solo stuff. Much different from this hip hop thing. From the heart, all souful and crap. Then you'll hear my voice, for better or worse.

Thanks for listening!

sean.

novicedollars- well that was a short one. really like the drum tones and the feel you got go with the guitars. laughed when the kid says "bad word"
lookin forward to your new stuff "From the heart, all souful and crap".

gena- nice stuff, liked snowfall the best. seems to be missing some percussion though for my tastes. but i'm just a bongo kind of guy....

here is some music
from an improv jam session
haiku is pointless
--------------------------

Who doesn't love a bad haiku? Anyway I have two sessions open for critiquing at opsys.net. Session alpha was recorded straight with the 001, and session beta was recorded with the same set up, plus a Digimax LT (which rocks).

Session alpha was recorded during our first Jam session together (there are 3 of us), and session beta was the second time we jammed. It's basically mixed, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback and advice!

Hello My DUC friends!

I have a new song for everyone. First one since the 18th of November. This song is called Affectionately Lost (which for some reason, keeps bringing the Floyd's Comfortable Numb title to mind, why?!?!?), Anyway. Hope you all enjoy the song. If you cant make out the lyrics, there should be a button next to the song that says, "View Track Info", it has the lyrics.

i know you have screams in the background of that song ben, but why isn't there a scream upfront like in "what this did to me"?.

it would have fit nicely right after the soft "from the last lie i'll fix you" part (im suprised i never asked you that befor).....but as i have told you befor it sounds great anyway you have it

Do you mean as in the Phrygian Era? Or as in Phyrigian Cadance/Spanish. Actually I hear the spanish sound of it from a lot of people, but I didnt intend for that. But the guitar does sound like that at first I admit.
What kind of music are you putting out BTW?

Very simple guitar based rock. First chance I get to finish some of my own work I'll post some and you can have a listen.

I really did enjoy your track.

NoviceDollars- dug "tour", sounds kind of "roots hippy". how about some bongos and shaker??

captain pants- sounds like a hint of salsa/mexican flavor to "Affectionately Lost". nice.

Another goodie there in the "Wicked" song. Would love to add some vox. Do you have any lyrics?
