Pt hd 8?

I have been looking for HD v. 8 for use with my ppc Mac (Leopard) G5.

The Avid site has downloads for everything up to 7.4 and pT 9 and 10 but I can't find anything regarding v. 8 (which is the final version that supports PPC Mac G5).

Am I missing something or has PT 8.0 fallen off the face of the earth?

You can order the dvd install for 14 bucks. And buy the ilok license on ebay

The Pro Tools HD9 ilok license includes a PTHD8 license in the bundle, so they probably figured if you want PT8HD at this point, you need to buy PT9HD to get it.

don't bother, support for the G5 was dropped before 8 was useable
7.4 is just way more stable

Yes, agreed, and I hate that PPC didn't get 8.1 and HEAT. Even more stable combination would be PT 7.2 running on Tiger OS. If stability was the goal, I'd choose that.

But the PT8 brings in the new GUI and some free plugs, not to mention many 3rd party plugin vendors are already having hard time supporting or even providing installers compatible with anything older than PT8/Leopard.
