EdiCue v3 released
 

I'm proud to announce the release of EdiCue v3. Here is a list of what's included in this major update:

• New 64bit app with updated user interface that is macOS dark mode and HiDPI compatible
• PDF layouts that can be designed to customise every element including adding logos and selecting which fields to display
• Controls to style the ADR cue 'Line' text to bold, italic, underline or set the color of the text
• A 'Segment List' to allow cueing of multiple reels or episodes in a single session
• The option to export PDFs with editable fields so that TBW PDFs can be edited
• Detail rows in the ADR summary to breakdown each character by Priority, Cue Status, Reason or Reason Category
• Additional fields in each cue including a new BVox (Breaths and Vocals) checkbox
• New 'token' setting fields to customise the contents of the exported filenames and cue numbers
• Updated Import ADR Data window that automatically aligns the destination fields
• New PDF data import option to import data from edited fields in an EdiCue PDF. E.g. TBW PDF
• Production settings file can now be stored in a custom location. E.g. external or network drive

For a full list of features see this blog post. You can also download and install EdiCue v3, where it will provide the option to activate a three day trial license when first run. Running EdiCue v3 will not effect any EdiCue v2 files.

NOTE: EdiCue v3 requires either macOS 10.10+ or Windows 8+, while EdiCue v3 licenses require a 2nd or 3rd generation USB iLok or sharable iLok license.

Just released #EdiCue v3.0.1 to fix 4x bugs:

• Fix to allow styling of ADR cues with non-English text
• Fix to set character ID correctly in cue numbers that are printed in time order PDFs when using the global cue count method
• Fix to stop crash on startup when EdiCue is run on macOS10.10 or macOS10.11
• Fix to calculate the total number of cues and BVox cues in the character list correctly when the production is setting the BVox state automatically

Just released #EdiCue v3.1.0. This version includes the following updates:

• Changes for compatibility with macOS (10.15) Catalina
• New buttons in the Manage Productions window to Import and Export project settings
• New ADR cue counting method to reset the counter with each new segment
• Fix to be able to load ADR cue data from EdiCue PDFs containing editable fields
• Fix to load scene numbers correctly from PDF shooting script files that display the scene numbers in the left and right margins

Just released #EdiCue v3.1.2. This version includes the following updates:

• New 'ADR Summary Type' option "Segment Detail". This lists the segments in the detail section of the summary PDF, text and Excel files
• Character and Department IDs are now displayed with the length set in the production settings when set above 3 chars
• Any space characters found in the cue numbers of imported data are now converted to underscore characters rather than removing them
• Fixed crash bug that occurred while in dark mode during data load after session interface window had been open

Just released #EdiCue v3.1.4. This version includes the following updates:

• Multiple fixes to handle cues that use footages so data is loaded, displayed and exported with the correct cue locations (hour start)
• Fix to clear the styling in stylable session interface window fields when all text is deleted
• A check to see if any MIDI commands will be created before 00:00:00:00 while exporting MIDI files
• Minor fix to make sure default extensions are shown while setting the name of exported files on macOS

Just released #EdiCue v3.2.0. This version includes the following updates:

• New Export Movies and Export WAV Files windows with integration with Todd-AO's Actors Mobile ADR. For more information see this blog post.
• Fix so that scene band designs that use the 'SegHasChanged' variable will now show the segment details when the scene band is re-displayed at the top of a page.
• Minor bug fix for macOS light/dark mode switching in the session interface window styled text fields.
• Fix to allow summary band designs to be imported from external settings files.

Just released #EdiCue v3.2.1. This version includes the following updates:

• New filter field to filter exported ADR cues by their TBW state.
• While exporting 23.976 and 29.97 FPS movies from the Export Movies window, exports without a watermark now create files at the correct frame rate.
• Fix for macOS 10.10 -> 10.13.6 users so a preview is shown in the Export Movies - Watermark Setup window.
• Bug fix to stop crash when data is loaded after the Export Movies window has been opened and closed in dark mode.

• New production property to allow Custom Cue Numbers (CCNs) to work with character based cue numbers.

• New field in the PDF shooting script import window to ignore pages that contain the entered text.

Just released #EdiCue v3.4.0. This version includes the following updates:

• New Filter controls on the 'General Settings' tab.
• Updates to how PDF scripts are loaded into the Session Interface window.
• Change to message displayed after an AAF is exported to show settings required in Pro Tools including fixes made in PT2021.3.
• Fix for changes made in v3.3.0 so all fields in the Session Interface window are cleared when you get the data from a clip.
• Added an 'Open Folder' button to the message displayed on completion of an export to reveal exported files in the Finder/Explorer.
• Updates to allow non-English text to be entered into the ADR Reason list and Session Interface 'Cue Status' and 'New Reason' fields.
• Custom Cue Numbers are now shown in the 'Cue Details' window when Pro Tools text files are loaded.
• Added check while loading Pro Tools text files for '.dup' tracks that have no base cue track.
• Fix in the 'Create Template AAF - Track Names' window so the list is compatible macOS dark mode.
• Bug fix so a New Line tag at the start of the Line field is read.
• While importing data from Excel files hidden tabs are now ignored.

Just released #EdiCue v3.4.1. This version includes the following updates:

• Fix to Session Interface window to make sure that text sent to Pro Tools clip name does not contain hidden control characters which can break the import of data from an EdiCue PDF.
• Increased the maximum number of characters that can be stored in the 'Segment Picture Version' field from 12 to 20 characters.
• For Department Notes the 'Cue Status' field data is now shown in exported PDFs.
• Changes to the Session Interface window to properly handle 'Line' text that starts with new lines.

Just released #EdiCue v3.4.2. This version includes the following updates:

• Following fields are now exported in the clip names of AAF exports: 'Cue Status', 'BVox', 'Safety Only', and 'PDF Editable'.
• New 'PDF Editable' column in the 'Cue List' window.
• 'PDF Editable' fields are now imported and exported in 'All Fields' Text and Excel files.
• Fix so correct font style is printed in PDFs if any italics styling (tags) are setup in Line field.
• Fix to stop crash when band designer formula editor is opened and changes are made.
• Tweak so initial display of main window shows controls in correct location on macOS Monterey.

Just released #EdiCue v3.4.3. This version includes the following updates:

• Fix to read the extension of a file correctly when the filename contains non-English characters.
• Bug fix so the menu item 'File > Load PDF Layout Test Data' now works again.
• Fix so dropping a shooting script text file onto the Session Interface window now displays the script at the end of load.
