002R Loses connection w/PT LE 7.3.1

Hi there,

I've just updated my PT LE setup to 7.3.1cs2, and whilst tracking with my band yesterday I had a few issues. The main problem is that the 002R would drop the firewire connection from time-to-time. The interesting point is that I didn't receive any error messages - the session would still be open, however any recording and/or playing would stop (and no longer work) and there was no sound coming through at all (all of the volume meters were stuck on whatever they were at when the problem occured).

I could fix this by closing the session, and exiting PT, and then re-opening it again (re-booting wasn't neccesary), so it doesn't seem to be a critical hardware failure.

Any ideas? This was happening to all sessions, to a variety of different track numbers and very minimal plug-ins (as we're only at tracking stage at the moment). It happened both in recording, playback, and in 'Idle' mode...

System: Dell Inspiron 8600 (Pentium M - 2.0Ghz, 1GB ram). All networking disabled etc.
Recording to Maxtor Onetouch II, 7200rpm external drive (ie never had problems before), using cardbus firewire card (once again, had no issues before with previous versions).

OS: Windows XP Home SP2.

Any insight will be most welcome.

Cheers
