FireWire cable length

Hi,

I want to make a studio setup with my computer as fas as possible from my listing position.
I found a firewire cable with a length of 4.5 meters. Is that the max. length for Firewire / digi 002r or can i go longer.....

The IEE-1394 spec has a limit of 4.5m for cable length, but there are companies selling longer cables and guaranteeing compatability via improved construction. People here on the DUC have used longer cables successfully.

the fwc-70 in the magazine says extended so idk if that
means its an extension cord, i'm not really sure
