Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!
The first song in my player was all PTLE and I remastered it recently with the help of the Wave Arts plugins like TrackPlug, which really helped it out a lot!
Check out "Do You" at http://endc.net (playback should begin after the page loads) Cheers, Nathan (Spur) |
Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!
Wow, I really did this tune! I cant find a complaint about it. Makes me want to run down to my Mac and start recording.

Very first time recording my band.
This is my first post here.
I just picked up an Mbox and I'm totally excited about this thing. It came with ProTools 6.1 which should work fine for my purposes. Yes I picked up the Mbox used for 100$! I couldn't pass that up. Anyway, this is my very first recording, aside from the recordings I did in the late 80's with a 4 track recorder and a guitar...wow was that rough. My band has been together for 12 years now and we have gone to studio's to record. We finally decided to do it ourselves..actually I finally decided to bite the bullet and do it myself. This recording was done very quickly, we each did one take and our singer didn't have time to lay down the real vocals. It sounds like the bass player may need to do another take as well as some parts of the guitar track, however, I'm not quite sure how to punch stuff in yet. I'm just so excited about this, I thought for my first post I would let you guys have a listen to my first attempt at recording! Since the band is limited on mics, we were only able to use 5 on the drum kit, 1 on the snare, 1 in the kick, 2 over head and 1 between the toms as well as one for the scratch vocals. Once I get the singer back in to lay down some real vocals, I'll update and post here with the updated song. Here is the URL: http://30gritslurry.com/music/122906FusedWrist.mp3 Let me know what you think...understand this is my first time using ProTools or recording my band for that matter. Thanks Chuck www.myspace.com/30gritslurry |

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!
Very nice, everything sounds so up front, it grabs your attention. That guy's a great singer/songwriter too. Really enjoyed the songs.

New Tune - its been awhile.... eh...
It has been awhile so here is a new one that I am still working out some kinks with. Having issues with the kick, but I like where it is going at least. Has some punch to it and lots of stuff going on.
SERENITY Still some minor tweeks and some arrangement things to think on. We had to track things quick as I am closing up shop and relocating to Denver in 2 week. This is the first version I guess you can call it. Enjoy, Doc |
Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!
Here's a weird little tune that's part of a larger project I'm currently working on. It's really just a demo, but it was fun to make.
It's about 12 different electric guitar tracks (not neccessarily all at once) plus a couple of e-guitar loops thrown into the mix... The first minute and a half is kind of out there, but if it's late at night, you're a little depressed, and perhaps even a bit stoned, you might dig it http://silvertone.princeton.edu/~amlone/mp3s/a_thought_among_many.mp3 Cheers, Andrew |
Re: New Tune - its been awhile.... eh...
Alright! So I had some constructive surgery tonight on the mix.
SERENITY_V4 I am much happier with the hand drum out except for the break. I was also able to get a fuzzy kick that I was after. Enjoy, Doc |
new cd finally complete!
Just wanted to post that my new cd is officially done! After 2 years of off and on recording, I finally have it complete. It is my first full project done with Pro Tools.
There are song samples for every song here (13 tunes) and two full songs on my MySpace account Recorded on Protools 7.1 - Digi002 Mainly used Sony Oxford & Waves SSL plugins Soundelux for vocals sm57 for guitars D112,57, Rode NT4, Soundelux for Drums RNP, mic'd - bass Mastered by Euphonic Mastering (http://www.euphonicmasters.com/), who have done tons of artists, Sister Hazel, Nine Stories, and Evanescence to name a couple. He did a real good job. I have tried something different for this cd. When the customer buys the cd, inside the liner notes is an unlock code. With that unlock code, they can go to the web site and "unlock the vault" which has 3 complete songs from the recording sessions that did not make the cd cut, a documentary/diary on the process of recording, a "recording 101" class with over 20 audio examples of different instruments in the mix, unreleased demos, and extras (such as radio broadcasts, pics, etc..) It's a ton of extra stuff, so hopefully, people will enjoy the extras! (I threw in magnets, stickers, and pictures for the first 50 people that buy the cd) Also, Mike Viola (Candy Butchers..sang the "That Thing You Do" for the Tom Hanks movie, but more importantly, is an incredible songwriter!) sang backup on Postcards & Memories and Jim Boggia (who contains the same scary talent!) song on backup on Searching For Signal. Pete Donnelly (bassist for the Figgs) also contributed for about 5 tunes. Everybody did a great job. As you can tell, pretty proud of this project. Hopefully, you will enjoy! Thanks Keith |
