Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
I really don't have time this morning for yet another episode of, "Let's Figure Out What This Dumb-Ass Pro Tools POS Is Doing THIS TIME!!!" I need to nudge my midi notes. How difficult does that have to be? My nudge tool won't nudge anything other than my playhead. I've scoured the internet and lost a half hour on an extremely tight deadline this morning and nothing, nowhere, has anything on how to change this.
Any help would be appreciated. |
Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
Are you reliving this old nightmare? Are you selecting notes properly first? This still gets me…
https://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=...0&postcount=22 Something else? Try trashing prefs. |
Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Darryl... that did it. I suspected that might be the solution, but trashing prefs is something I save as a last resort. Maybe every day should begin with that, before getting started, in order to stay ahead of this garbage DAW: trash the prefs, trash the prefs, trash the prefs... Build a list for myself of my prefs settings, trash the prefs first thing each day, then go in and reset them according to my list.
Pro Tools is definitely not the place for artists or anyone who requires an uninterrupted creative flow. PT is a destroyer of creativity. |
Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
PT is a tape machine with extra features, LX is sequencer with recording features. Pick your poison.

Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
Get the Pete Gates Preference Helper.

Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
Yes, get Pete Gates’ PT Prefs (http://petegates.com/pg-pt-prefs.html) and make this simple and fast to trash (and put back if needed) prefs files. Pro Tools should not be as flakey with prefs handling, but sometimes we all also accidentally change something (accidental mystery keyboard shortcuts etc.). PT Prefs or Trasher on Windows really can be sanity preserving tools.

Re: Stop Nudging My Playead!!!!!!!!
1) Trash prefs is a trivial problem for me since I only alter a few.
2) Pro Tools is a great DAW. YMMV. |
