ZOOM TOGGLE doesn't work when PT is playing

If PT is stopped, Zoom toggle magnifies the area around the cursor. Great !

But if it's playing and I hit "E", it magnifies an empty space on the same track. I do audio post so, for example, I'm playing back 01.33.00.00 (program starts at 01hr) and it magnifies 00.19.30.22..

Anyone else ?

Mac 10.14.6, PT Ultimate 2021.6, EuControl 2021.6.1.5

Maybe my needs are not the same as yours, but I almost never use the zoom toggle. I do use the "E" key while editing, but not while tracking. To expand/contract horizontally, I either use the zoom presets, or I use the R and T keys to zoom out/in(keyboard focus enabled):o

The way Zoom toggle behaves during playback may depend on the particular combination of Insertion Follows Playback, Edit Window Scrolling mode, Loop mode, punch mode, Dynamic Transport, etc. I was unable to replicate your reported behavior, though. So, maybe it's a bug that afflicts your setup. Could Eucontrol be a factor?

Re: ZOOM TOGGLE doesn't work when PT is playing

I’m not sat in front of my rig at the moment but it sounds to me like it’s working exactly as it should. The Zoom toggle expands at the start of the *edit* point, not the *play* position. These aren’t the same things.

FWIW I use Zoom Toggle all the time when I’m in play and I’ve always loved being able to zoom in on different portions of the session without being constrained by where the play head is.
