There is a cool recording tip for kick drum:
(most of "pro-dudes" perhaps know about it... but anyway images/icons/grin.gif )
Need two mics, example akg d 112 and C 414 B - ULS.
D112 inside BD as normally, C 414 front and very close of BD, bottom, near floor.
After recordin, phase "front" track about 10ms forward.
So, now you can control sound of kick drum to adjust level from "front" track,
you can get very huge sound just lift level images/icons/shocked.gif
