Greetings,
I remember seeing this topic before but was unable to bring it up on the search. I can't seem to get any signal from minidisc to PT with the optical output on my minidisc player. I have tried different sample rates and bit depths with no luck. I've tried all sync modes and still no luck. Any suggestions? I know the cable is fine as I am able to transfer from ADAT to 001. Thanks in advance.
Peace,
ghoti

You need to open up the Setups/ Playback Engine/ Other Options... that will get you to the Optical Format drop-down. Choose S/PDIF, click DONE, then OK. Your stereo S/PDIF optical should be available from your inputs 9 and 10.

For a volume control, route inputs 9 and 10 to an Aux input stereo fader, use that Aux's fader to control signal sent to any stereo bus. Then input that bus to a regular stereo audio track and you're set.

BTW: PT currently defaults back to optical ADAT whenever you reboot the computer. I have found no cure for this, and hope the new version includes this fix.
