A Dell techie is trying to convince me that XP has a compatibility mode, and that it lets you can load any program or driver compatible with windows 98. He said to go to the help topic and type compatibility mode, and all will be revealed. Before I buy XP, will someone try it and tell me if it works. Thanks

It wwont work with protools. Compatability mode is useful for software only applications, but where there are drivers that talk directly to hardware the drivers must be written to work with the OS.

Yeah the same effect can be achieved through changing values in Regedit but as Alvin pointed out it wont help with the driver situation. You can sometimes fake out your PC into thinking its a 98 by swapping that value back and then forth as well but again thats not gonna help with digi 001 ...so why am i posting this? I dont know....?
