Hey guys,

I just ordered Wavelab 4.0 b/c I've heard so much about it. But I'm curious does it hook into PTLE like a plug-in of some sort or do you bounce the song to disc then open it in Wavelab. If you bounce what is the best bit size and sample rate to bounce it in. I assume you bounce it as a WAV file.

Thanks

Just export at the normal 24 bit 44/48 khz wave/ or aiff file. Then go into wavelab and click on open wave. That's it.

Very true what citi said. WaveLAB is a "standalone" application.

I use WaveLAB v3.0 Generally I "dither" my work in ProTools into a "stereo interleaved" wave file at 44.1/16 bits via the "master fader", then import into a WaveLAB "montage" for assembly of the album and (if needed) some "minor master tweaking". Be sure to put in place the plugin called "peak master" at the end of your chain and create a profile setting of -.02 (which is widely considered to be the optimal db range for digital productions) This will ensure no clipping of your digital signal (given there is no clipping to begin with) while giving you optimal dynamic range.
