Input Setups

Hi,

Just curious to hear what other setups people are using with the Digi 001 for acquiring more than 8 tracks of input at a time.

Is there a setup where you get 24 input tracks at at once?

Even though you can record arm 24 tracks, PTLE will only recognise 18 inputs.
I have and Soundcraft mixer for analog inputs 3-8, a Mindprint DI-Port for inputs 17 & 18 (Coax S/Pdif), and I'm hoping to get a Presonus Digimax for inputs 9-16 (optical litepipe)

Nope, 18 discrete inputs at once is the limit with the Digi 001. You can't do any more, although you can record ("mult") a few of those 18 inputs to two or more tracks at once and actually record 24 tracks... but some of them will have the same info on them.

I use a pair of Yamaha AW4416's with my Digi 001. Gives me 32 extra tracks, 8 mic preamps (actually 16, but I can only route 8 of those into the Digi 001 digitally - the ohter 8 would have to go analog, and I've got Vintech / Neve 1272's, Presonus MP20's, Joemeeks, etc. if I want to do that.

One (or two!) of these boards with a couple of Yamaha option cards with a Digi 001 makes a really cool pair! images/icons/cool.gif

I have been thinking of going with the Presonus Digimax for awhile and it looks like its got everything I'm after for now. I'm still shopping around for a quality Coax S/Pdif input for tracks 17 & 18. Any suggestions out there?

Aussie...How do you find that the Mindprint DI Port works with the Digi 001. Any lagging or speed problems when recording multiple tracks?

I'm not really busy with stuff so I not using all my stuff... In fact I'd love to get smaller.. I've 48U full of crap... A laptop with an MBox would be nice...

What do you think of the MindPrint?
I have one here but it's not even plugged in...
